About Required MA-C License

Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
Allowing for some variation in duties from one work setting to another, the following are typical responsibilities of MA-Cs:
Accurately prepare and administer medications according to physician orders and facility protocols.
Obtain and record vital signs.
Document medication administration and patient responses appropriately.
Monitor patients for adverse reactions and report concerns to nursing staff.
Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) and other resident care duties as needed.
Collaborate with care teams to support overall patient/resident well-being.
Maintain compliance with HIPAA, medication handling, and infection control standards.
Qualifications:
Active Medication Technician certification in the state of Alabama.
6 months of experience in a long-term care or healthcare facility preferred.
Strong understanding of medication administration procedures and safety.
CPR/BLS certification.
Excellent observation and communication skills.
Ability to adapt quickly and work independently in different facility settings.
