About Required RN License
To become a registered nurse (RN), an individual needs to complete an accredited nursing program for RNs. After that, they must complete a licensure application and approval program that meets their respective state’s licensing requirements and pass the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN). Furthermore, RNs must renew licensure periodically, following their state’s requirements.

Key Responsibilities
Although work duties can vary significantly depending on an RN’s particular work setting and specialty, here are some common RN responsibilities.
Collect information and assess a patient’s condition by taking their vital signs and medical history, performing physical examinations and observations, and analyzing laboratory tests.
Develop and implement patient care plans based on ongoing assessments and physician’s orders.
Deliver patient-centered nursing care based on individualized assessments and treatment plans
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
Monitor patient progress, record, and report changes in patient’s condition to the care team
Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare professionals to plan and coordinate patient care ensuring optimal patient outcomes.
Educate patients and family members about health promotion and self-care management and offer emotional support.
Maintain patient confidentiality and ensure compliance with established policies and procedures.
Document care accurately and timely per facility policy
Adhere to all facility protocols, safety guidelines, and regulatory standards
Qualifications
Active and unencumbered RN license in the state of Alabama (or compact license where applicable)
Minimum of 1 year of clinical nursing experience required
Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and/or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Excellent clinical judgment and communication skills
Ability to adapt to various healthcare settings and quickly integrate into facility routines
Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills
Knowledge of nursing procedures and protocols.
